I'm Makenzie! A lover of Jesus, a mama to a miracle baby boy (Haylen) that was born at just a pound and a half, and I'm a fifth generation native to Bakersfield, CA and have grown to love the Central Valley and the community it cultivates. I’ve been a photographer for going on sixteen years now, shooting my first wedding when I was 16 years old. Over 300 weddings and thousands of clients later, I’ve been extremely fortunate to say I have been a full time photographer year round since I was 21 years old. I'm extremely grateful to do what I do!

I almost always order a chai tea instead of coffee (extra chai please!) - I adore anything Kate Spade, I really enjoy abstract art, I have always LOVED the color orange, and I'm obsessed with my malti-poo pup Elsie. I am often found decorating my home - strolling through Home Goods is therapeutic for me - binge watching the newest TV show while editing, consuming mashed potatoes, or making plans to travel to new places. Most of all, I love going anywhere with my family and friends, especially when it includes an incredible hike with a view that justifies the sore legs at the end of the day!

ABOUT MAKENZIE

My story

I believe in being honest, real, authentic, and sharing about where God has taken you and how He has brought you to where you are today. I am a firm believer that there is no message without some mess, and no testimony without a test. Growing up with a family heavily involved in ministry for 18 years, I've learned a lot about myself. I learned the most about myself when I was in a near fatal car accident in March of 2013. Since then, photography and my faith has taken on a new role... I believe it is my honor and responsibility to remind and show others just how beautiful and powerful they truly are. My creativity is a gift, a reflection of His workmanship, and I am ecstatic to share it with you. I would love to hear YOUR story - everyone's story is different, incredibly unique, and I would love to help you show it to
 the world through my art.
